2006 Annual Report Meeting
January 31, 2007 Urban League Office, Cleveland, OH

Myron F. Robinson Tracy Oliver
President & CEO Chair
|
Welcome to the Annual Meeting of the Membership. 2007 marks our 90th year of service in the greater Cleveland community.
In 2006, with the unwavering support of the community the Urban League continued its work in the arena of job placement and self-sufficiency. The Urban League has worked diligently throughout the year to reiterate to the community that we are a vital community resource, not just a charity. As a vital community resource to the economic growth and future of the city, we will continue to reach into the disenfranchised segments of our communities to provide opportunity and access for those at the social and economic margins. Throughout 2006 each of you has played a vital role and for that we are forever grateful. Your financial support and volunteerism have solidified our efforts.
In 2007 the Urban League will undergo many changes. We will mark the end of an era as our President Myron F. Robinson, retires after 16 years of dedicated service. We will introduce the community to the new face of the Urban League as the torch is passed to our new leader. Our signature fundraiser, the Celebration in Black & White will celebrate its 20th anniversary and the Urban League will introduce the community to its new brand. While many changes await us on the horizon, one thing remains the same -- The Urban League will continue to reach into the disenfranchised segments of our communities to provide opportunity and access for those at the social and economic margins.
On behalf of the Board, Staff and Young Professionals, we thank each corporate and individual sponsor who has contributed to our past success. We look forward to your continued support in 2007 and beyond.

Myron F. Robinson presents the President's 2006 Annual Report at the meeting. ... "Cleveland in my opinion has all the resources needed to be a great city. We must find a way to work together for the good of the citizens of this city. We cannot continue to reward each other while our fellowman is in adjunct poverty. We cannot continue to ignore the fact that Cleveland is the number one city in poverty in this nation." .... read full report
